We recognize that gender-affirming care can be an essential part of supporting mental health, authenticity, and overall well-being. Our practice offers assessment and letter-writing services for adults (age 18 and older) seeking clinical documentation to support access to gender-affirming medical care.

This process includes a minimum of four therapy sessions focused on understanding your experiences, exploring your goals, and assessing how gender-affirming care may support your mental health. Throughout this collaborative process, we’ll discuss your history, identity development, and current challenges to ensure that the letter fully and accurately reflects your needs and well-being. These sessions also ensure we meet professional and ethical standards for assessment and documentation. If a letter is clinically appropriate, it will include all information required by California law.

It is important to note: a letter is not guaranteed. The decision to provide one rests on clinical judgment after careful assessment, ensuring that it aligns with your mental health needs and meets professional and ethical standards of care. If writing a letter is not appropriate, we will discuss alternative supports or pathways that may more safely and effectively benefit your well-being.

While therapy sessions may be eligible for insurance reimbursement depending on your coverage, the fee associated with the letter-writing service is not covered by insurance and is billed separately as a non-reimbursable service.

Our approach is affirming, compassionate, and respectful of each person’s unique journey. The goal is to provide supportive, ethical documentation that helps remove barriers to care and empowers you to live in alignment with your authentic self.
